"Damballa" As with all the other issues in this series, the title of the issue comes from the name of a Voudun "god", in this case the sky god, Damballah, creator of life. In the previous issues he was referred to as "Mr. D" and never seen, only heard pacing the floor in the attic of The Royale. In this issue he remains unseen although his presence is depicted as a resolution to the events involving Christian and his "deal with the devil".
